Ontology
A discipline of philosophy that explores the science of what is, the kinds and structures of objects, properties, events, processes, and relations in every area of reality. It explores fundamental questions about what exists, what kinds of entities exist, and how they are related to each other.
Ordinal Variable
A variable in which the order of data points can be determined with categories that can be ordered or ranked based on some characteristic or attribute, but not the distance between data points, e.g., letter grades.
Organization
An institutionalized structure that is formed for a specific purpose. Examples of organizations are businesses, academic institutions, religious institutions, or government institutions.
